Heavy gun-battle broke out between government troops and several gunmen in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu, witness said.
The clashes flared up when gunmen, thought to be Al Shabaab fighters launched an ambush attack on bases manned by gov’t troops at Tarbunk intersection in Mogadishu, causing undisclosed casualty.
The exact number of casualty on both warring sides is yet to be established.
The attackers fled from the area shortly after being carried out the assault.
The government officials were unavailable to reach on the phone for comments.
No group says it carried out the attack on bases of government forces in the capital city of Mogadishu.
