Uganda deploys additional troops in Somalia

Uganda Government has sent additional troops to Somalia to speed up its contribution to African Union’s mission in Somalia, officials said.

A Farewell ceremony held at military camp in Kampala has drawn mission’s importance as troops planned other troops who have completed a one year duty in the horn of African nation.

The leaving troops would station in the Somalia capital to join other African troops and intensify the fight against Al-Qeada linked militants Al-shabaab.

Uganda is one of the countries that contribute troops to the African Union-led peacekeeping force in Somalia, which has endured more than two decades of chaos and conflict.
