Turkish Gov’t on Tuesday declared an electoral budget which it said would support Somalia’s election, which is set to be hold this year.
Turkish Ambassador to Somalia Olgan Beker has said that his government will donate $4 million which will be used for the electoral funds.
“We attach great importance to the security of the election and to ensure the necessary funds for election budget. In this regard I would like to announce Turkey will provide 4 million dollars budgetary support to the Federal Government next week,” Bekar said.
The ambassador has said that credible and transparent elections are essential to Somalia’s growing democracy, affirming more support to the process.
Turkish President Raceb Tayiip Erdogan has visited more than once in the capital Mogadishu, launching several projects including Embassy, airport and Hospital.
