Why not start debating of term limits constitutional amendment to Somalia’ elected/selected public officials cannot remain in power indefinitely!!
With term limits of one or two 4-years duration in place, would eliminate unhealthy politics, a royal family, a theocracy, corruptions, and also would work to stop this cycle of political reward and power abuse. Fresh new blood brings new ideas and methods into the playing field.
The practice of term limits exists in many countries. Mexico limits its president to one term duration, and its congressmen /parliamentarians cannot serve consecutive terms. The Russian Federation limits consecutive terms for its president and parliamentarians to no more than two. Turkey, Greece and Rome societies put a restriction on the number of terms a person may be elected to a public office.
Somalia is really in need to put a restriction the number of consecutive terms a representative, senator, the head of state, diplomat abroad, and certain public officers serving in public power lifetime/indefinitely.
