South West State of Somalia Concerned the Reduction of water Shabelle River

Baidoa (INO) – South West State of Somalia very concerned about the reduction of water Shabelle River, which many people rely upon.

Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation in South West Mohamed Hassan Fiqi given media said that an investigation was sent to the lack of water and other damage that river met with farmers in Lower Shabelle region.

He told the minister that they had seen everything in the next few days they will pass on the loss of farmers.

“Many problems inherited from the Shabelle River water shortage, we have sent a committee inspected the damage to farmers, and I hope we show total loss,” he said.

Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation also pointed out that the agency FOA and the EU to demand immediate accesses to the wells to further increase the losses to farmers.

Finally, Shabelle reduced water with strong influence on people and animals, as well as declining crop depended Shabelle River.
