The spokesman of Somaliland’s election commission Sa’eed Ali Muse has announced that the campaign is making significant progress as the commission registered many people who are eligible to vote in the upcoming election.

Muse added that  Togdher, Sahil Marodi-Jeh  and Awdal regions became the first places to register voters as materials have been distributed to voting more than hundred centres in the region.

Somaliland has began the vote-registration last January, but the election preparations have been effected by a drought hit several major regions in the semi-autonomous state in northern Somalia.
