Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud has received on Monday credentials from the newly-appointed Russian ambassador to Somalia Sergey Kuznetsov.
The president has welcome Sergey Kuznetsov at the presidential palace in Mogadishu, where both have discussed on variety of matters, including strengthening the diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Somali president hailed the resuming diplomatic relations between Somalia and Russia for more than two decades of absence after the collapse of former Somali regime in 1991.
For his part, Sergey Kuznetsov said that he is happy to come to Mogadishu and present his credentials to the president of the federal republic of Somalia H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
He said Russia will help Somalia in several key issues, including infrastructure, mining, education sector as well as rebuilding the country.
