Somali president Hassan Sheikh and a high-level delegation he is leading flew to Addis Ababa, the capital of nighbouring Ethiopia on Friday.
The president’s delegation was welcomed by the prime minister of Ethiopian and other high ranking officials from the government at the airport of Addis Ababa.
Somalia’s outgoing president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is expected to attend IGAD summit due to open in Addis Ababa on Saturday, according to sources.
The IGAD summit in Addis Ababa will dominate the current security and political crises in the regional bloc’s member states, including Somalia and South Sudan.
