Somali prime minister Omar Abdirashid Sharmarke is expected to pay a landmark visit the central town of Dhusamareb which is held by Ahlu Sunna Waljama, an anti-Govt group.

The Prime Minister is accompanied on the visit by regional diplomats and other key officials, including several ministers from his government, according to the sources.

During his stay in the central town, the premier is expected to hold talks with the armed moderate Islamist group, in a bid to end the long-running rivalry between Ahlu Suna and Galmudug.

The city’s security has been beefed up ahead of the PM’s arrival.
