The prime minister of federal government of Somalia Omar Abdirashid Sharmarke has strongly condemned the Al shabaab attack on Ambassador Hotel in Mogadishu on Wednesday.
The premier has sent a heartfelt condolences to the families and friend who lost their loved ones in Ambassador Hotel attack which left at least 15 people, including two members of Somali parliament.
The slain MPs who were identified as Abdullah Jama Hussein and Mohamud Mohamed Gurre have been killed by the Al shabaab attackers during the hotel siege, sources revealed.
Wednesday’s attack was one of the deadliest and powerful attacks in Mogadishu since Somali and AU troops pushed Al shabaab out of the seaside capital of the horn of Africa country 2011.
“Such attack on civilian targets will not derail government from the progress made in securing Somalia, it only serves to unite and strengthen our resolve to defeat Al shabaab,” said Somali PM in a statement.
Somali prime minister Omar Abdirashid Sharmarke has called on security agencies of the country to double their vigilance and prevent Al shabaab from carrying out similar attack in Mogadishu.
