Colonel Abdinur Jama Jokar, who previously served in the army said the recent joint raids by Somali and U.S. raids on Al shabaab strongholds were unsuccessful and fruitless.
Jokar said Al shabaab managed to foil all operations by Somali and U.S. forces after they received prior information of the attacks on their strongholds.
The former army colonel has urged the government of Somalia to change its strategy and the failed commanders who led the botched operations against Al shabaab.
Jokar’s remarks come as Somali and U.S. forces have in the past carried out several ground and airstrikes against Al shabaab militants in south and central Somalia.
