A £5,000 reward has been offered in a bid to catch those who set fire to a Somali community centre in north London.

A fire destroyed the Somali Bravanese Welfare Association – also known as the Al-Rahma Islamic Centre – in June 2013.

Officers have also released a CCTV image of a light-coloured Toyota Corolla Verso vehicle which was seen “very close” to the centre in Muswell Hill, Barnet, just before the attack.

They want to trace the owner or driver.

The building on Coppetts Road was reported ablaze in the early hours of 5 June, 2013. No-one was injured in the fire.

Following the fire, Met Police said, the letters “EDL” – which stand for English Defence League – were found sprayed on the side of the building, which was mainly used by children after school.

The arson is being treated as a hate crime.

No arrests have been over the incident and the Met’s Counter-Terrorism Command unit is investigating.
