Abdullahi Godah Barre, a member of Somali parliament has accused the country’s president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of illegally approving the elections system.
“The president has committed a treason in the national constitution for passing the election bill that was under process to ratify by the parliament,” said Barre.
He said presidential decree on 2016 electoral process is totally unlawful and betrayal that would cause political turmoil in the forthcoming presidential and parliamentary elections by the end of this year.
The MP’s accusation comes as the international community has welcomed the decree issued by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on the modalities of the 2016 electoral process.
