The district commissioner of Baay regional district of Diinsoor Ibrahim Mohamed Nur told IdaleNews.com that Somali troops backed by Ethiopian forces have pushed out Al shabaab from new areas.
“The allied troops have managed to successfully liberate Al shabaab fighters from several rural located near Diinsoor town following a military operation,” said Diinsoor District administrator.
Nur said SNA and AMISOM troops seized weapons and other military arsenal from Al shabaab militants during the capture of the new villages in the outskirts of the town.
He underscored that they will keep up their offensive against militants until the whole areas under the town are secured and become free from Al shabaab threat
