Gunman kills four, injures three in Abud-Wak town

At least four people are known to have been killed and three others sustained wounds in a shooting spree in Abud Wak town in Galgaduud region in central Somalia on Sunday.

Confirming the incident, Abud-Wak district commissioner Mahad Omar Elmi said unknown gunman has opened fire on public, killing 4 civilians and injuring three.

Mr Elmi said Somali security forces of the town have launched probe into the deadly shooting incident as the culprit has escaped from the scene of the murder.

The victims who have been wounded were taken to hospital for medical treatment, according to Abud-wak district commissioner who spoke to IdaleNews.com

The motive behind the killing of the civilians and identity of the assassin remain unclear, but security officers promising they will release information about the incident.
