The interim Galmudug administration has denied a pentagon report that U.S. military drones have targeted Al shabaab militants at an area east of Galkayo city in central Somalia.

The army chief of Galmududg state Col Hassan Farah Karshe, told Local Media that Al shabaab has no any base near Galkayo and confirmed his soldiers were killed in the U.S. air strike

The army commander of the semi-autonomous region of Galmudug accused neighbouring Puntland of misleading the US into believing they had targeted Al shabaab fighters who are fighting against Govt.

Karshe said over 20 soldiers, including members of Galmudug president’s security guards have been killed in the U.S. drone attack near Galkayo, a city that its southern site is administered by Galmudug.

However, the Al Qaeda-linked Al Shabaab said it did not have any of its fighters in the area during the time of the bombing which took place late on Tuesday night.
