Galmudug and Ethopia to hold talks on Galgudud fight -INO

At least twenty people killed and thirty others wounded in villages near the border between Somalia and Ethiopia. The Somali Ethiopian region paramilitary Liyuu Police forces and Somali nomads and villagers have been fighting areas of Galgudud region in the recent weeks.

Hashi Abdi an elder from Mir-owled village talked South West of somalia Based Independent Station  IdaleNews.com about the fight. The elder said heavy weapons used in the fight. The elder accused Liyuu police of killing women and children.

Another elder told Goobjoog news that the fight took place in rural area called Frontfor which is the west of Mircowlead. The angry elder said that Liyuu Police with clan militia killed 20 people. He said displaced families with children massacred in these areas.

Adado Hospital director Dr. Mohmmad Omar confirmed that 24 people injured from the fight admitted to the hospital. Eight of wounded people have been transferred to Mogadishu Hospitals.

Aid and Humanitarian minister of Galmudg state told Goobjoog News  that Liyuu Police committed cross violations against residents of border areas. Minister Shire Hirsi called an International investigation on what happened in these areas “International investigator should be send, women and children died. Somali Government and International Community should know what happened” said minister Shire.

Yassin Abdi Waris who is the commander of security forces in Dollow Somali region of Ethiopia in an interview with BBC Somali service blamed Galmudug state of what happened. He said Galmdug forces attacked Da’der village, which he said is part of Ethopia. He said their forces retaliated and driven out attacking forces from the village.

Deputy Justice Minister of Galmudug Mohmmad Gure Guled calls intervention on what he calls atrocities committed by liyuu Police in these areas.

Meanwhile IdaleNews.com learns that talks between Ethiopia and Galmudug will be held tomorrow in Adodo.
