Fresh roadblocks erected on Afgoye-Baidoa street

Armed militiamen have set up new illegal roadblocks on the main street between Afgoye district and Baidoa town, south of Somalia.

The increasing roadblocks have obstructed the public transportation as the drivers of the vehicles voicing concern over the unaffordable expenses.

Jama Mo’alin Abdi, one of the respected Somali elders in the region has accused the officials of the interim south west state administration involving the roadblocks.

“It is clear that members of south west state have a role in the roadblock on Afgoye and Baidoa street by the militiamen,” said Abdi while speaking to Media’s

The elder has called on Somali federal government to take necessary measures to tackle the roadblock challenges facing people and the public vehicles.
