Somalia’s south west administration said that defected Al-shabaab fighters on Sunday succumbed to security officials in Diinsoor district.

The state officials said that suspects have laid down their weapons after intense operations which allied forces conducted in Bay’s major villages.

The fighters will receive rehabilitation and will join with their families in the area after the process ends which was not set a specific time.

Al-shabaab remains a bigger threat to Somalia’s security, continuing to wage deadly attacks on the AU forces in the horn of African country.
