Soldiers serving with the UN-mandated African Union mission in Somalia (AMISOM) have shit and killed at least five civilians, including children near Jowhar town, the headquarters of Middle Shabelle region on Saturday morning.
A witness, speaking on condition of anonymity has confirmed the shooting incident to Radio Shabelle, saying AMISOM soldiers killed the innocent civilians Dhuldoog village, 15Km west of Jowhar city.
“The tragic incident occurred after AMISOM soldiers have indiscriminately opened on crowded civilians at Dhuldoog village, killing 5 civilians, among them children,” said the Witness.
Authority in Jowhar did comment on the AMISOM’s shooting of civilians, which was the latest in series of crimes against people of Somalia by AU peacekeepers in Somalia.
