Despite having an influence in the Somalia politics, South-west president will face impeachment as regional MPs are favoring to replace their president, officials said.
Osman Mohamed who is among leading South-West Mps has said that president is likely to be ousted in a planed no confidence vote.
He said that Shariif Hassan Shiekh has spent most of his time in Mogadishu, neglecting state duties which he supposed to carry out in the state’s interim capital.
“84 lawmakers have so far registered to vote against the president and we expect the number to reach 100 to enable the impeachment “ Aato has told reporters in Mogadishu.
South-west president has recently said that some MPs who hail from the region voted against a plan he aimed to change Somalia’s political quotas.
The south MPs have declared their impeachment but the leader has blocked several meetings which parliament was earmarking to discuss on the issue.
