Puntland environment minister Ali Abdullai Warsame blamed the security minister of Galmudug state Osman Isse Nur of fuelling the conflict in Galkayo, the regional capital of Mudug province.
Speaking at a press conference in Galkayo Mr Warsame Galmudug security minister is hampering peace talks to bring an end to the recurring deadly violence.
“Puntland formed a peace panel and was ready for the resumption of the formal peace talks, but Galmudug security minister is messing up the efforts,” he said.
Mr Warsame has also blamed Galmudug state security minister for helping Al shabaab fighters enter Puntland, to carry out attacks in the region.
Meanwhile, the semi-autonomous region of Galmudug officials were unreachable for comment of the Puntland minister’s accusation.
