The president of the interim Jubbaland administration Ahmed Madobe has accused the top leaders of federal government of Somalia of neglecting security.
Modobe said the country’s leaders, including those of the federal states are currently focusing on the upcoming general elections instead of the national security.
“Al Shabaab took advantage of the transitional period as the leaders are in hectic of the elections due to be held in August, later this year,” said Madobe.
Mr Madobe gave this speech on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan in Kismayo city, 500Km south of Mogadishu.

“Al Shabaab militants are now reemerging and regained more towns, because the federal government’s reliance on the AMISOM forces,” he added.
On the other hand, Jubbaland leader said the government has failed the reintegration process of the country’s national army due to clan divisions.
