The local Security forces of Somalia’s northeastern semi-autonomous region of Puntland have on Thursday arrested ten suspects linked to the murder of female activist.
Puntland security officials say army has launched on Thursday morning a house-house searches at villages in nothern Galkayo, headquarters of Mudug region and managed to detain the suspects.
The troops made 10 arrests in the murder of Dhudi Yusuf Aden, a prominent and outspoken woman who was the chairwoman of Mudug women’s association.
The suspects are now held at a police station in northern Galkayo city, where they are being questioned over the murder case, which has triggered public anger.
Aden has been shot dead by pistol-wielding man outside her house in Galkayo town on Wednesday evening. The assassin is reportedly to have escaped the scene.
