The military forces of Somalia’s Federal Government have launched an offensive against Al shabaab hideout in an area near the southern town of Adan Yabal in Middle Shabelle region, an official said.
Adan Yabal district commissioner Mohamud Sheikh Hassan has confirmed at least three militants were killed in the attack which took place on Sunday at Al shabaab-held Gulane village.
“SNA – Somali National Army soldiers killed 3 Al shabaab fighters and seized their wepons during an attacked on Gulane area located in the outskirts of Adan Yabal town,” said Hassan.
So far, Al shabaab, the Al Qaeda-affiliated militant group did not comment on the attack and the claim of Adan Yabal districy commissioner Mohamud Sheikh Hassan.
