A statement by Kenyan government reveals that AMISOM faces several challenges one of them in particular being the absence of troops in the Gedo region.
“The President will discuss other Kenyan concerns about AMISOM. Among them is the lack of critical components necessary to achieve the strategic objective of stabilizing Somalia, such as robust land, air and maritime capabilities and assets,” it stated.
Following the talks President Kenyatta will resume his visit to the North Eastern Region, on day two of a three-day tour that will focus on Wajir County.
