The Al-Qaeda linked Al Shabab group claimed its fighters have fought a raid by US forces in southern Somalia on Monday night.
According to the group’s radio arm Andalus, the ‘American’ forces using helicopters have launched an attack Toratorow, a small town in Lower Shabelle region and engaged with fighters in the area.
The militant group also claimed that its fighters have managed to ‘force’ the ‘invading’ forces to retreat back to the outskirts before they returned to their respective destinations.
No comment could be reached from the US government which carried out numerous raids and airstrikes that killed hundreds of Al Shabab fighters.
