Middle Shabelle admin vows to rinse out Al shabaab

The deputy governor of middle Shabelle regional administration Abdullahi Yusuf has announced a military plan to push Al shabaab militants out of the entire region  before the country goes to polling stations by the end of 2016.

Yusuf said the capture of the new areas in the region by the SNA and AMISOM on Saturday was the beginning of their offensives, to annihilate Al shabaab fighters  from whole areas under middle Shabelle regional administration.

Somali national army (SNA), backed by African Union troops (AMISOM) have on Saturday re-captured three key villages near Adale town in middle Shabelle region from Al shabaab, following days of military push.

Despite losing several key towns, Al shabaab still in control of large swathes of land in south and central Somalia and continue staging massive attacks on Somali government installations and AMISOM bases.
