South West State president Shariif Hassan Sheekh Aden has said that Somali people are in a shock after a boat carrying over 400 migrants including 100 Somalis drowned in the Mediterranean Sea.
The president has sent his sympathy to Family members and colleagues over the incident
“This is a national disaster for all of us. I am calling Somali youths to believe in their countries instead of traveling by sea” the president has said.
He said that unemployment rate which has grown rapidly is an immense factor that could force youths to risk their lives in the sea.
The president has called regional states to focus on confronting smugglers who operate secretly in Puntland, Somaliland, Jubbaland & Gal-mudug
