Puntland state said it launched a probe into two dead bodies discovered at an area in the outskirts of the central divided town of Galkayo city, regional capital of Mudug on Thursday.
The deputy governor of Mudug region Ahmed Muse Nur said Puntland security forces are investigating Unidentified bullet-riddled bodies of two men dumped outside Galkayo town.
He said an Ethiopian Oromo ethnic man was among the two bodies who was recently abducted by unknown gunmen from northern Galkayo city under Puntland control.
“Gunmen grabbed the Ethiopian national on Tuesday night, and dragged him into a small empty field outside Galkayo and filled his body with bullets,” said the deputy governor of Mudug region.
It is yet unclear the motive of the murder and the identities of the culprits who carried out the tragic execution of the two men, according to Ahmed Muse, but he said investigation underway.
