Muqdisho (INO) — Hon. Ismail Omar Guelleh, the president of Djibouti has on Saturday arrived in Mogadishu on a two-day official visit to Somalia, Idale News Online reports.

Guelleh has received a warm welcome at Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu from his Somali counterpart Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, ministers and federal lawmakers. The overall security of the capital was tightened a head of Guelleh’s arrival.

During his two-day visit, he will attend ceremonies to commemorate the International Mother Language Day which began today and will continue until 25th February.

The Presidents of Somalia & Djibouti said while addressing at the opening of the ceremony: “We are not only united by language, we are also united by our resolve to defeat the terrorists”

Djibouti is one of the east African countries that contributes troops to the UN-mandated African Union-led peacekeeping force in Somalia, which has endured more than two decades of chaos and conflict.
