Guracel(INO)-Heavy fighting on Thursday resumed in Guriel town in Galgadud region.
Idale News Online reporter in Galgadud region said the fighting began when Somali government forces launched attack on the Ahlu Sunna Waljamaa bases in the town in a bid to retake the area from the moderate Sufi group who captured it Tuesday from government forces.
Witnesses told Idale News Online heavy fighting is taking place inside the town.They said there were casualties, but they couldn’t provide an exact figure.
Reports say the government forces are being assisted in the fight by militias loyal to a rival Ahlu Sunna Waljamaa wing.Tuesday’s clashes left at least 14 people, mainly combatants, dead and 30 others wounded.
