MOGADISHU, Somalia (INO) — At least One person was killed and 7 others were wounded on Wednesday when an explosive device fitted in a car went off near a market in northern Mogadishu,Idale News Online reports.
Ahmed Yalahow, the district commissioner of Kaaraan has confirmed to Media that the blast was targeted a vehicle belonged to a Somali security force member who has narrowly escaped the assassination attempt by Al shabaab militants.
The aftermath of the attack, security forces reached at the bomb explosion site and carried out an operation detained nearly a dozen of people, mostly teenagers in connection with the IED blast, according to the witnesses.
No group has so far claimed credit for the attack which was the latest in a series of car bomb attacks happening in Mogadishu since Al shabaab was pushed out of the city in 2011 by Somali govt troops backed by AU peacekeeping Soldiers.
