The deputy governor of Lower Shabelle region Ali Nure Mohamed have been accused of fuelling clan tensions in the region as tribal fighting re-starts in Marko town and its surrounding areas.
Mr Mohamed who spoke to South west based independent station idalenews.com, did not reveal the names and of the ministers and lawmakers involved in the igniting of clan feud Lower Shabelle region.
The governor also blamed AMISOM – African Union mission in Somalia for siding with one of the rival clans fighting for control of the coastal city of Marko, 110Km south-west of Mogadishu.
The renewed tribal clashes in Lower Shabelle region of southern Somalia have left scores of unarmed civilians dead. Six people from the same family were burned alive near Marko this week.
Somali government hasn’t yet commented on the ongoing clan fighting.
