Al shabaab says behind deadly attack in Mogadishu
Al Shabaab has claimed responsibility for a devastating car bomb attack at Mogadishu seaport on Sunday which left scores of people, most of them civilians.
According to a statement released by Al shabaab, thirty police officers were killed when a bomber drove his vehicle into a police tax office located at the entrance of the seaport.
The blast has rocked the main harbor, and sent a thick smoke into the air, according to witness.
Most of the people killed and wounded in the attack were civilians and seaport employees. The wounded people have been taken to hospitals for medical treatment.
The attack was the second in two days as the city has been hit by deadly attacks by Al shabaab who are trying to disrupt the ongoing parliamentary elections.
