Allied troops clash with Al Shabaab near Bardale city

Somali troops backed by AMISOM soldiers have engaged in heavy gun battle with Al Shabaab fighters near Bardale town in Bay region on Sunday, according to a local official.

Ali Addow Isack, the deputy commissioner of Bardale town said the  fighting flared up after Somali and AMISOM troops have attacked an Al Shabaab camp, sparking deadly clash.

“SNA and AMISOM forces have raided Al Shabaab base  in the outskirsts of Bardale and killed several militants in the attack,” he said

The official said the allied troops did not suffer any casualties in the combat. Al Shabaab has commented on the claim of the Somali government of the attack and murder of the militants.
